HELLO ALL YOU WONDERFUL PEOPLE!

WOW! No one can say the weather is boring this year. It's too wet, too dry, too windy, too sunny, and too cloudy. It just doesn't matter where you are – the weather is 'too' something.

Here we have a few days of hot - then a few days of cold. We have a few days of rain - then a few days of clouds - then a couple of days of sun.

My daughter, Tammy, the kindergarten teacher, and her husband went to Florida. When she got back she said going from 97 degrees to 67 degrees was a bit much.

Of course, when it's so bad outside, I have to stay inside and work in the office instead of going out side to take care of the flowers and lawn and veggies. That means that I have gotten quite a bit done this last month.

I have to keep my air conditioner going in my office to keep the humidity down so my printers work. Also, my over head lights don't come on if the humidity is too high. And did you know that your smoke alarms go off in high humidity? It's very irritating - and loud. We finally had to take the batteries out 'til we could get the moisture in the air down. The first time that happened - a few years back - we couldn't figure out what the problem was. Live and learn.

Now it is Christmas in July. Good Grief! Where did the time go?

First thing I want to talk about is discontinuing the K007 - Add-on Kit. It really doesn't make sense the way it's set up considering how many more paints that we've put in the Line since I introduced it.

I'm going to take it out as it stands now. I will put the 'K007' back with different paints in it and a new name later. I'm still cogitating on what exactly I want to bring out in kit form that will have a mini tote and 12 paints. I'm thinking about a “Country Kit” or something like that. Using the paints that are in the Line right now - do any of you have any suggestions?

July Special

Stained Glass & Santa

The Special for July 2008 is T4770 Staind Glass & Santa and (1) P322-Mini Flag. Price = $6.75

June / July Special

I ironed the T4765 – 2009 Calendar on to a Mini Flag (P322) and it looked really good. This is another way to use that transfer. You don’t have as much room to paint designs around it, but you can still use a big variety of transfers to dress it up and make each one of them different.

I really like this idea and I think you will, too. This would be great for those craft shows and gifts. Let’s make it into a special!

Mini Flag Calendar Special $30.00

This will include (5) P322 and (5) T4765. I’ll run this Special for two months (June & July). Order under MFCS1 -$30.00.

I have been very pleased by the orders that have come in for the Flour Sack Towel Special. It always makes me feel good when I get one right.

Another thing that you could do is to put a large transfer down on the Mini Flag or Flour Sack Towel – paint it – then put the calendar transfer right over it. You have to remember that the under-lying transfer has to wind up being light enough in coloration that the black lettering on the calendar will show up.

There you have another way to use the T4765 – 2009 Calendar. You could also, use it on a t-shirt or sweatshirt (then people would see how long the paint stays on a shirt – until it wears out and beyond). This would, also, make a good gift or craft show item. It would definitely be different.

If you all like these ideas and buy lots of these transfers and Specials, I will do the 2010 Calendar Transfer earlier next year. The sales are what show me what you like. If I don’t have sales on an item, then I know you don’t like it, and I will stop doing whatever that is. If I have lots of sales, then I know that you like it and we carry on from there. So – if you buy it – I sell it, if you don’t buy it – I drop it.

Monthly Workshop

There will be One (1) workshop in the month of July:

July 17th - 11:00 AM– Let me know if you are coming!

How about working on the Snowmen Quilt? We will be using brushes for the background and the snowmen.

Monthly Quilt Clubs

Since we have quite a few Quilt Paks in the Line now, I thought we should go over different ways to use the transfers that come in with the blank quilt blocks.

I know that some of you are not into quilting, but you like the sets of transfers.

Here are some things that you could do:

Instead of quilts you can make throw pillows with a different design on each side. That would give you six (6) different throw pillows. If you want to make twelve different throw pillows - or six - or nine -you just need to order extra sets of blank quilt blocks (P601-$5.25) to use for the back..

Instead of using the transfers on quilt blocks you can put the designs on shirts, flour sack towels (P327), mini flags (P322), tablecloths (P1220, P1221, P1222, P1223), a Wallhanging (P324), dresser scarves (P326), placemats (P1289), tote bags (P1492), pillow cases (P1595), pants, skirts, jackets. There are just so many different ways to use the transfers.

I like to put several designs on a single shirt. I buy men's shirts at yard sales and then I make it into a theme shirt. I might make a unicorn shirt, or a shirt of flower faces. I have a Christmas shirt with many different designs on it. How about a snowman outfit on a sweat suit?

There are just sooo many ways to use the Quilt Paks it boggles the mind.

I think this month I will do things a little different. I think sending you the cover pages of the two new quilts would let you show your customers a clearer picture of what they need to do the two (2) new quilts.

Paint News

We have a new paint this month. 303 - Platinum. This is an idea that John came up with. I use it quite a bit in the new Christmas Quilt. It's a combination of 340-Sparkle Accent and 341-Gold Accent. It's really rich looking.

I thought I would send you a page on the IK. This way you can show your new customers. Remember that the price of this Kit changes as more paints go in the Line. In the future, all you will need to do is correct the number of paints in the Kit and the price. I think this will help you to sell more of them.

With 107 Cameo Paint Colors to choose from your sure to find the right color for your project.

Those of you who order the IK – the kit with one of each paint that is in Line

Remember that the cost has gone up now that there is 1 new paint.

The cost is now $288.25. The retail cost of these paints is $318.93.

Classes Being Held by Our Friends in Other Locations

All the instructor/dealers that I put in this section have a lot to teach and would like to teach all they know to you. So contact them and get started now.

We have a new craft store carrying our products. See us at ‘Crafty Folks’ right on the Alaskan Highway in Taylor, British Columbia. They will be running workshops at the store so you can learn right there how to use the products and they will have the products for you to buy. The address is 10501 99th St., Taylor, BC. Call and register for your class today (250-789-3720) or just go in and look around. Lisa will be glad to see you.

I know I have others in British Columbia that order from me – this store might be just what you’re looking for to pick up your products near you instead of waiting for them to come by Post.

We have a lot of dealer/instructors that have their own web sites now and more coming on-line all the time. When you’re on the Web just put Ginger’s Cameo in your search line and see how many you come up with. After you find them all – just check out the one nearest you and order. (You have to have your tax license # to get your discount from us to re-sell to others.)

We’re also on EBay and Amazon.

We’re getting better known all the time thanks to all of you out there. Keep up the good work!!!!

Final Words

I’ve been trying to hold down the price on shipping – but now I’m starting to lose money on it and prices are going up at the Post Office starting May 14th. (Prices at other shipping places have already gone up.) The increases they are talking about, on top of what I was already losing, means that starting May 1st, 2007 my shipping prices are going to go up.

Remember that shipping is figured on your retail total before your discount.

If you think I should give you a lower shipping amount on your order because it is a small order, you can call and we might be able to adjust it some. No promises though. I’m not in the business of making money on shipping, but sometimes the small orders are what off-set the big orders.

Well, I guess that's all for this month. Keep that those suggestions coming. I need every one of them. See you at a meeting.
